Doris A. Nisle

February 11, 1927 - June 04, 2007

Age 80 of Eagan - formerly of Baxter & Brainerd, MN

Passed away peacefully at her home from complications of Parkinson’s disease on June 4, 2007. Doris graduated from St. Anthony’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1948 in the last Cadet Nurse Corps class. She lived and worked briefly in hospitals in Colorado, Washington & Montana. On June 13, 1949 she married Howard Nisle in Richland, WA. In 1954 they moved to the Brainerd area and resided in Baxter for 46 years. Doris worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 26 years. Although she worked in many areas & retired from the Nursing Service Office, her favorite areas were surgical nursing and patient care. In 2001 Doris and Howard moved to Eagan to be closer to their family. Doris is preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Lori Ann; & parents, Harry & Elsie Nelson. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Howard; children, Norma (Norman) Theien of Hot Springs, AR, Carla (Chuck) Berkler of Lytton, IA, Debi Cumber of Eagan, MN & Rick (Denise) Nisle of North Mankato, MN; grandchildren, Ashley & Andy Berkler, Meghan Cumber, & Crystal, Samantha and Tommy Nisle; brother, Byron (Rosemarie) Nelson of Republic, WA; & sister, Linda (Jim) Allen of Brainerd, MN.

Funeral Information

Funeral Service 2 PM Thursday, June 7th at HEARTLAND ALLIANCE CHURCH, 7756 Highland Scenic Rd. in Baxter with a visitation 1 to 3 PM Wednesday at JOSEPH S. KLECATSKY & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1580 Century Point (Yankee Doodle Road @ Coachman Road)in Eagan and also 2 hours prior to the Service at the church. Interment Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
