Died peacefully at home. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Elizabeth Hauer; wife of 49 years, Helen (nee Ginter); grandson, Christopher L. Johnson; sisters, Appoline Glynn, Lauretta Jung, Virginia Mastel & Susan Nytes; and brother, Charles Hauer. Survived by daughter, Geraldine (Lynn) Johnson; grandson, Steven Johnson (fiance, Tammy Stotler & Demitri); great-grandchildren, Roman Johnson & Amber Lane; brother, Florian (Irene) Hauer; and many nieces, nephews & friends. Born on December 31, 1919 on the family farm in Union Hill, Minnesota. He worked at Swift & Company for 24 years starting in 1941. During his service in the Army in WWII he was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired from Cenex in South St. Paul in 1982. He enjoyed old-time dancing, singing, card games, gardening & fishing. He spent 4 hours daily in prayer for friends & relatives and had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Lakes for their caring & compassion as well as friends & relatives who made his last days enjoyable. Funeral InformationVisitation from 4 to 8 PM Monday, June 23rd with a Parish Vigil at 7 PM at JOSEPH S. KLECATSKY & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1580 Century Point (Yankee Doodle Road @ Coachman Road) in Eagan. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday at the CHURCH OF ST. JOSEPH, 13900 Biscayne Avenue West in Rosemount with a visitation 1 hour prior to the Mass.
