Major Dale A. Peterson, U.S.A.F. - RetiredSeptember 02, 1921 - February 25, 2009 Retired Air Force Major - Age 87
A loving husband, father & grandfather. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dorothy. Survived by his sons, Tim (Charlene) & Terry (Susan); grandchildren, Melissa (Jonathan) Gupta & Christopher; sister, Helen (Warlick); & loving friend, Lois Jacobson. Dale spent 20 years as United States Air Forces pilot, 15 months of which as a POW in Germany. He continued serving the government as an FAA inspector for another 15 years, followed by a year as a UN Air Carrier inspector, assigned to Sri Lanka. During his subsequent retirement years, he was an active member of the MN chapter of the American Ex-POWs of War, serving 1 year as Commander. His strong faith in Christ, which was first nurtured as a child at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Sand Lake, WI, provided him with a strong foundation for the rest of his life. It sustained him through the war, guided him & Dorothy as they raised their loving family, and more recently gave him the strength to continue to live and to love. Funeral InformationFuneral Service 11 AM Monday, March 9, 2009 at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1930 Diffley Road in Eagan. Visitation from 3 to 7 PM Sunday at JOSEPH S. KLECATSKY & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1580 Century Point (Yankee Doodle Road @ Coachman Road) in Eagan & also 1 hour prior to the Service at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
