Passed away on August 6, 2007 at Cerenity Care Center – On Humboldt in St. Paul, MN. She was born July 6, 1921 in Pence, daughter of Cesare & Pauline (Valentinotti) Battisti & graduated from the Lincoln High School in 1939. Following graduation, she worked at the Walter Field Mail Order House in Chicago. Later she worked for the ASC office in Hurley & Ashland. From 1961 to 1982 she was employed by the Iron County Welfare Department. She was a caring person, visiting the sick & the elderly and always remembering many with cards and gifts. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Roosevelt Grade School in St. Paul, MN. She was a former member of St. Anthony Church in Pence & later a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hurley. She married Bennie Berno on October 19, 1969. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1984. Survivors include her sister, Mary Moha of W. St. Paul, MN; nieces, Rosanne Hardie, Janet Susco, Jane Schlittler & Beth Bauer; nephews, Robert & Gregory Battisti and Thomas Moha; sister-in-law, Faye Battisti; and many other relatives & friends. Besides her parents & husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Battisti; and stepfather, Peter Piziali. A luncheon will follow the burial.
