Rev. Carleton D. PetersonFebruary 21, 1943 - December 06, 2007 Age 64 of Eagan
Born February 21, 1943 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Harry and Evelyn Peterson. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race.” Carleton went to his eternal home on December 6, 2007 following a four year journey with cancer. Survived by his loving wife, Judy (Buer), children Heather (Chad) Stayko, Anne (Edwin), Matthew, Evelyne, Holly and Sarah, grandchildren Emily, Jacob and Kaijsa, brother Sheldon (Sharon), brother-in-law Carl Sjogren and many other relatives and friends. Carleton was a treasured companion and dear friend of many, his life is celebrated and his presence will be sorely missed. He attended Trimont High School, North Park College, the University of Minnesota, North Park Seminary and Duke University. He served Evangelical Covenant churches in Bellingham, WA and Eagan, MN, as well as interim pastorates at Lake Jennie Covenant, Community Covenant, Edina Covenant and Rice Creek Covenant churches. Following over 25 years in ministry, Carleton became certified as an Executive Coach through the Hudson Institute, helping individuals live out their values and goals. His passions included his family, preaching, teaching, good conversation, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, community development in Kenya, prison ministry, Unidos en Christo/Charis, the Superior Hiking trail, living in plain view and sharing of his time and talent.
