Passed away in Southview Health Care Center from Alzheimer's on Nov. 7th. She was 78 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thaddeus Chao; her parents and brother. She is survived by her sister, June (Robert) Nash of CA; her children, Eugene (Debbie) Chao, Kathryn Litchfield, Eileen Chao, Elizabeth (Wallace) Spittle, Sheila (Robert) Bohrer and David (Jill) Chao; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, A native of New York, she graduated as a RN from Manhattanville College, married and moved out with her husband to Minnesota where she spent some of her time helping with vaccinations of the Mendota Heights Police and Fire Departments. She also did many years of service with the League of Women Voters, Jaycees and PTA with IDS #197. When raising six children she still found time to bowl on the Wednesday Sweetheart League at Westside Lanes as well as bowling with her husband at Wells Lanes, helped when she could with Boy Scout events and church. She enjoyed her time when she met Pope John Paul II on one of her visits to Rome with her husband and the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale. She was always ready with a pot of coffee for visits with neighbors and friends who would stop in regularly. She will be missed greatly by family and friends. Funeral InformationViewing of the body will be 4-8PM THURSDAY Nov. 10th with a 7PM Rosary at WEST FUNERAL HOME 1051 S. Robert St. @ Arion, West St. Paul. Visitation also 1 hr. before Mass at the Church. The Funeral Mass will be done on FRIDAY Nov. 11th at 4PM at ST. JOHN'S OF ST. PAUL 977 E. 5th St., St. Paul. Burial in Ft.
