Bernice Margaret DeNardo

November 01, 1916 - September 21, 2004

(nee Held)

Born Nov. 1, 1916 She was the beloved daughter of Ida J. & her husband Karl Held. She was raised on the west side of St. Paul along with 4 sisters & 2 brothers. Bernice attended St. Matthew's Parochial School, as well as St. Michael's & St. Matthew's Catholic Churches. She worked in sales for the Emporium & Brown Photo/Black Photo, where she was a well known & valued associate. In later years, she was a valued volunteer. In 1940 she married Louis J. DeNardo with whom she spent nearly 50 wonderful years before his death in 1990. Bernice was a dedicated wife, mother & grandmother 'Nona'. She loved her family & enjoyed her life with them. Bernice died on Tues. Sept. 21, 2004 at the age of 87 years due to kidney failure & related illnesses.

She is survived by her children, Bob (Judy), Susan DeNardo Maykoski, & Richard (Lori); grandchildren, Gina (Jerome) Graf, Angie (Tom) Meagher, Tony (Jody) DeNardo, Patrick, Jennifer, Katie Maykoski, Chrissy, Peter (Christina), Paul, & Jon (Jody) Denardo; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Rachel, Evan, Sean, Celia, Samuel, Alexi, Jalen, & Hayden; siblings, Ida (Joe) Palmetessa, Rita Purcell, & Mary (Ludd) Friesies; & many nieces and nephews. Bernice joins in Heaven her husband, Louis; mother, Ida; siblings, Carl (Marian) Held, Harold (Elsie) Held, & Ethel (Dick) Floeder; nieces and nephews, Louis 'Son' DeNardo, Carol Biscigilia, Joann Palmetessa; & brothers & sisters-in-law, Marguerite (Victor) Spelta, Alvina (Frank) Conney, & Irene (Luigi) DeNardo, Jenny 'Nin' (Ozzie) Ragogna.

Funeral Information

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, 11AM, CHURCH OF ST. MATTHEW, 507 Hall Ave. @ Robie St. in St. Paul. Visitation Thursday 5-8PM, WEST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 S. Robert @ Arion, WSP, and also from 9:30AM to Mass time at church on Friday. Bernice will be intered next to her husband at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
