Age 80, on March 31, 2004. Preceded in death by parents, Nicholas & Josephine; brothers, Nick & John; & sisters, Helen, Marie, Bertha, and Julia. Survived by loving husband of 59 years, Louis W.; children, Michael (Mary Helen), Linda (Tom) Murtagh, Janet Boomgaarden, & Gail (Don) Habisch; grandchildren, Bradley (Julie), Amanda, Jessica, Tracy (Adam), Christoher, Nicholas, Gina (Kristopher), Vanessa, & Steven; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan, & Andrew; siblings, Bernard, James, Edward, Irene Truskolaski; her twin sister Lorraine Blossom, & Joan Schulke; & numerous nieces & nephews. Leona bravely fought a battle with Crohns disease for over 32 years with the support of her family, but most importantly, her personal cheerleader & cargiver, her husband Louis. The family would like to thank Dr. Dickenson for his persoanl attention & support for the last 32 years; Drs. Giefer & Slattery over the last 4 months; the staff at St.. Joseph's Hospital & Bethesda Rehibilitation Center for the compassion & care provided as she fought her last battle. She was a fighter & her strong wll to live enabled her to survive against enormous odds. She is now dancing with the angels. Funeral InformationFuneral leaving from SOUTHERN FUNERAL HOME, 414 Marie Avenue, SSP at 9:30AM Monday. Mass of Christian Burial, 10AM at CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY, 8th Street South at 6th Avenue in South St. Paul. Visitation 4-8PM Sunday with 4:30PM Parish Vigil at the funeral home.
