Jacquelyn Hunt DiebelAugust 27, 1934 - January 26, 2009 Age 74 of Mendota Heights
Born August 27, 1934; died on January 26, 2009, surrounded by her loving family after treatment for breast cancer and acute myelogenous leukemia. She proudly tended to her family like a fine garden and reaped immeasurable joy and satisfaction from raising her seven adoring children and watching her twenty-one beautiful grandchildren grow. Jackie lived and died with grace, dignity, and tenacity. Whether it was her role as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a beloved grandmother, a cherished friend, an irreplaceable co-worker, or a dedicated and compassionate volunteer, Jackie was the standard-bearer for all who were blessed to know her. Beloved wife of James J. Diebel for more than 52 years (May 5, 1956). Greatest family ever: Jennifer Lynn Wood (Dennis), sons: Joe (Kacey), Tony and Jonathan; John Thomas (VeeAnne), daughters Melanie and Stephanie; Jane Marie Marcotte (Michael), children: Michael, Alex, Mallory and Sam; James Donald (Sarah), daughters Elise and Jessa; JoAnna Ruth Hesse (Eric), children: Ruth, Charley and Thomas; Julie Anne Korte (John), children: Jack and Hope; Jeffrey Paul (Lisa), children: James, Noah, Lucas, Jacob, and Teddy. Also survived by her sister, Roberta Griffin. Jackie loved playing bridge and 500, visiting with numerous friends, and continuing her ties with the Wilson High School Class of 1952. She had worked for several law firms in St. Paul and at retirement became a volunteer at SMRLS with the Senior Law Project. She was on the Advisory Board for the Thompson Park Activity Center and had recently served as Secretary of the Saint Paul Woman’s Club. Funeral InformationMass of Christian Burial 10 AM Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the CHURCH OF ST. JOSEPH, 1154 Seminole Avenue @ Butler in West St. Paul. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at WEST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 South Robert Street @ Arion in West St. Paul and 1 hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at Mendakota Country Club.
