July 18, 1915 - December 30, 2007

"Chet" - Beloved Husband, Father & Grandpa

Age 92. Died peacefully surrounded by family on December 30, 2007. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Shirley; and brothers, Robert & Donald. Survived by children, Chester Jr. (Ardis), Caron (Per-Bjorn) Gunnerud, Gregory, Elizabeth, David (Lorrie), Mary (Michael) Sandin & Margaret; brothers, James (Dorothy) & Thomas; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; & brother-in-law, Gerald Stiff. Chet was a WWII Veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart. Life-long resident of So. St. Paul & long-time employee at Swift, & then owned Chet’s Bar until his retirement. He & Shirley loved to travel & was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer & was always ready with a funny story. He loved his family & friends and he will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral Information

Memorial Mass 10 AM Friday, January 4, 2008 at the CHURCH OF ST. JOHN VIANNEY, 19th Avenue North @ Bromley in South St. Paul with a Gathering 1 hour prior to the Mass at church. Inurnment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
