Travis was born November 9, 1982 in Alberta, Calgary, CANADA to Kelly & Mark Gibbons. He was raised in South St. Paul and attended school there through high school. He married Gene’t Phelps on July 26, 2002 and had two beautiful children, Chayse and Tayler. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 10, 2001. His Marine duty included Camp Pendleton, Tsunami relief efforts in Southeast Asia, and two tours of duty in Iraq. He was a member of Local 12 Iron Workers. Travis loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the woods. Preceded in death by father, Mark and great-grandfather, John Emil. Survived by wife, Gene’t; son, Chayse & daughter, Tayler; mother, Kelly Gibbons (Ivan); sister, Chaleena Hogfoss; niece, Kali; brother, Kyle Hogfoss; grandparents, Leonard & Marceen Morris and Jerry & Colleen Gibbons; aunts, Deb (Jim) Olson, Jodi Nelson; uncle, Brent Gibbons; mother-in-law, Sue Telstad; brother-in-law, Ryan Phelps; and nephew, Gage. Travis was a beloved son, husband and father. He will be forever in our hearts. Funeral InformationVisitation 5-8 PM Wednesday with 8 PM Funeral Service, all at SOUTHERN FUNERAL HOME, 414 Marie Avenue in South St. Paul. VFW Post #295 Ritual prior to Funeral Service. Inurnment with Military Honors 10:15 AM Thursday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
