Age 71, of Burnsville. Born Nov. 10, 1935. Entered into Eternal Life on Aug. 20, 2007 to join parents, Harry and Babe Virkus and infant brother, Baby Harry. Left behind are loving husband of 50 years, Jim, children, Sandra (Rick) Jackson, Diane (Joe Faustgen) Tjornhom, Robert (Claudia Ross) Tjornhom, grandsons, Nick and Nathaniel Jackson, Jake and Matt Faustgen, sister, Elsie (Glenn) Hintz, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Her three year battle with abdominal cancer has ended. Joyce was born in St. Paul, graduated from Humboldt HS and named to the National Honor Society. She worked at the Great Northern Railway and after her marriage to Jim raised her family in Brainerd, Dallas, and Eagan. Joyce retired from the Veterans Administration after 20 years of service. She was a tireless volunteer and after retirement devoted her energy full time to her family and church. Joyce was a dynamic and energetic Christian woman with a heart of gold, a smiling face and an upbeat philosophy of life. Joyce deeply loved her children and grandsons and was proud of their accomplishments. Funeral InformationShe was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 3930 Rahn Rd, Eagan where the Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Review will be Friday, August 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Klecatsky & Sons Funeral Home, 1580 Century Point (Yankee Doodle at Coachman), Eagan.
